Hellen Keller

Have you ever heard of Hellen Keller?! Hellen Keller was a woman who was blind, a famous speaker who has reached more than thirty countries in her advocacies for the rights of the women and the disabled. She was once asked: “What’s worst than being blind?”. She answered: “Having sight without vision”. Pondering with her words, I realized that she is living with this belief. And I believe, that if we, as people with complete senses, would live with Helen’s belief, I know that we can rebuild our world and make this world a better place.

Intellect vs. Character

Posted by admin on Sep 29, 2008

In this world, intelligence counts a lot. We are judged by other people based on our intelligence. Our status in life are also depending in how intelligent we are. And even the respect that we earn from other people is mainly based on our intellect. But have we ever given importance with our character?! Yes, intelligence counts a lot but our personality speaks even before our mouth proves the power of our brain. As John Maxwell have said, “Ones attitude, not aptitude, determines ones altitude”.

Acceptance and Beyond

What will you do with something that is lost? Find it. What if you can’t find it? Replace it. What if you can’t replace it? Duh! Forget it! It’s easy to say these, right?! Well, what if the question goes like this: What will you do with something that is lost, can’t be found, can’t be replaced and can’t be forgotten?! For me, the answer would be: Accept it. I believe God has His reasons for allowing things to happen, and it’s definitely for our own good. Let’s give thanks for all circumstances for His ways are better than ours.

Native Lechon Manok

My sister went home to our province in Bukidnon because it’s a long weekend. They were all there. Oh my! I envy them. Our father always prepares native chicken every time we go home and lechon manok is one of them. He is not fond of using seasoning in order to savor the taste of the native chicken. He just stuffed the chicken with lemon grass. Yummy!

Breastfeeding Is Best

To me, breastfeeding was the most intelligent choice for my children. I dislike the chemicals in processed foods, and I believe there are too many chemicals in processed foods, and I believe there are too many chemicals in the foods we eat. When I breastfeed my babies, I watched everything I put in my mouth so I wouldn’t pass along bad things to them. I think that breastfed babies receive the ultimate nutrition from their moms!

Golden Era

Posted by admin on Sep 18, 2008

Great people have always said that the golden eras are proceeds from the devotion and righteous passion of some single individual. And I guess it’s true. Look at the world right now, we barely see individuals who are devoted and upright with their passion. Maybe that’s the reason why the golden era was already extinct. But despite of this fact, I always believe that there is always a man who knows his God and knows where he is going.

Food Refrigeration

Since most, if not all people buy refrigerated foods, then here’s a healthy way of refrigerating them. They should not be left outside the refrigerator for more than 2 hours in normal temperature or even 1 hour in hotter places. If left for quite a long time, bacteria double every 20 minutes. If possible, consume refrigerated food within 3 to 4 days. After consuming food from the refrigerator, leftovers should be frozen and can be consumed for 1 to 2 months.

How many times does she call you?

Posted by admin on Sep 13, 2008

There are some women who call their boyfriend more than 10 times a day. Always checking out what her boyfriend is doing. Have you experienced these guys? I have a friend who has been in a relationship for five years. At first, he thinks that it’s cute that his girlfriend is calling him but, in the long run it already irritates him. He broke up with the girl after five years. What do you think guys? Did he do the right thing? What if it is the other way around?

Why do you want to be famous?

In an interview with the kids who joined a local contest, they were asked this question. I just can’t believe how children think nowadays. All of them almost have the same answers. They want to help their family. They want to buy a house and a car for their parents. They want to buy things that they can call their own. Hmmm. I wonder why they think like that at their young age. I guess kids are already aware of what is happening around them.

Slippers

Posted by admin on Sep 11, 2008

In the rural areas most children going to school walked miles just to attend school and because of this their slippers easily wear-out. But it does not matter to them at all even if they have to walk barefoot just to attend school. There is an outreach program conducted by Ms. Korina Sanchez to give out slippers to poor communities. I certainly hope that this project will continue and may continue to have supporters. Two thumbs up!
